Why You´re Tired All the Time (And It´s Not Just Sleep)
Let’s talk about the exhaustion you can’t nap your way out of.
We’ve all been there: You slept 8 hours, woke up groggy, and by 2pm you’re eyeing the floor like it’s a nap mat. You think, “Maybe I need more coffee.” But what if your fatigue isn’t about sleep at all?
Let’s break it down.
⸻
1. Your blood sugar is on a rollercoaster—and you didn’t even buy a ticket.
You have a banana and almond milk latte at 8am, feel amazing at 8:15, and by 10:30 you’re low-key homicidal and Googling “how to teleport a sandwich.” That spike-then-crash rhythm burns you out. Your energy isn’t just tied to sleep—it’s tied to how steady (or chaotic) your blood sugar is all day long.
Try this:
• Add protein and fat to breakfast (think: eggs + avocado or Greek yogurt + nuts).
• Pair carbs with something grounding: swap “naked toast” for toast with hummus, or fruit alone for fruit with nut butter.
Your pancreas will thank you. So will your brain.
⸻
2. You’re mentally sprinting all day—on broken legs
Even if your body is still, your mind might be running marathons. To-do lists, open tabs, emotional load, decision fatigue. Chronic stress burns through nutrients like magnesium, B vitamins, and zinc—nutrients that help you feel calm and focused.
You don’t need a vacation. You need regulation.
Try this:
• Take 3 slow breaths before checking your phone. That alone can shift your nervous system.
• Magnesium-rich foods (pumpkin seeds, leafy greens, dark chocolate) aren’t just trendy—they’re fuel for stressed humans.
⸻
3. You might be under-eating without realizing it
Especially if you’re trying to “eat clean” or “be good.” Here’s the truth: under-eating is exhausting. Your body needs carbs, protein, fat, and micronutrients to think clearly and move smoothly. If you’re barely eating during the day and faceplanting into snacks at night… that’s a sign.
Try this:
• Eat enough at breakfast and lunch. Not just a snack. Not just a green juice.
• Use this rule: Every meal should leave you satisfied, not surviving.
⸻
4. Low energy is a message—not a flaw
Fatigue isn’t a moral failure. It’s your body waving a little white flag saying, “Hey, can we look at how you’re feeding me, moving me, and asking me to function under pressure?”
So no, it’s not just about sleep.
It’s about rhythms. Nourishment. Nervous system health. And giving your body what it actually needs—not just what’s convenient or trendy.
⸻
• Balance your meals → less blood sugar whiplash.
• Breathe more often → regulate stress, protect energy.
• Eat enough → tired doesn’t mean broken.
• Listen to your body → it’s not lazy, it’s talking to you.
